The economically thriving provincial capital of China, Fuzhou, has a variety of treats to offer its visitors. From major attractions to see, to many things to do, this provincial capital is also a major centre for light industry.

This historic and cultural city with a history of over two thousand years represents many art related industries that are called the Three Treasures of Fuzhou; stone sculpting, cork cutting and lacquer work. Enjoy the traditional art culture such as those performances at Min Opera, which even today play an important role in Chinese culture.

The comfortable climate in Fuzhou allows visitors to enjoy trips all year round and possess a myriad of entertainment options. Fuzhou is famous for its natural beauty. One of the famous mountains of Fuzhou is Gu Shan (also known as the Drum Mountain) where you will find a Taoist temple that houses nationally important archives written in monk's blood. Another is Qi Shan where it welcomes the visitor to a forest park with beautiful waterfalls and dazzling views. For all you animal lovers, the Qi Shan offers you a place not only to visit but provides you with a chance to feed monkeys.

A few prominent temples of the area are Yongquan, Xichan, Linyang, Fahai and Yunju. Some of the other must-see attractions of Fuzhou are the famous tombs such as that of the legendary commander Lin Zexu, who set fire to 20,000 cases of opium which eventually lead to the start 'Opium Wars'. The famous tower Luoxing, standing tall on Luoxing Mountain is another cultural relic that also attracts many visitors.

If you're looking for something to take home as memorabilia of your stay in Fuzhou, the traditional handicrafts such as the root carvings, wooden art objects, bamboo art and shou shan stone carvings not only make great souvenirs but also great gifts for your loved one's back home.

Search for accommodation at a Fuzhou luxury hotel, such as the Shangri-La Hotel, Fuzhou that will provide you with easy access to all major sights and ensures a comfortable stay while visiting this provincial capital.
